The Healthy Moves 5K Run/Walk and Health Expo is designed to bring the communities of Cobb County and metro Atlanta together to increase awareness about health and wellness issues and proactively offer solutions to living a healthy lifestyle—including the necessity of maintaining a daily, active fitness regimen and proper dietary habits. Quite simply, our goal is to educate and engage.

This signature event will occur on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 8 AM on the beautiful campus of Life University in Marietta, GA. The 5K will be a trail run throughout the scenic landscape of the campus and the surrounding Wildwood Park. Following the 5K, a comprehensive Health Expo will take place at the Life University Wellness Center. The Health Expo will share information dealing with key health topics such as cardiovascular disease, breast and prostate cancer and effects of being overweight and obese. Additionally, the Expo will offer interactive experiences, health screenings, fitness consultations, nutrition advice and booths on a variety of healthy living topics.

Our drive for healthy living doesn’t end after the Expo. Throughout the year, on a quarterly basis, the Healthy Moves Initiative will offer workshops, seminars, speakers and exhibitions free to the public to continuously build upon healthy living education and advance the community’s involvement in a continuous, active fitness regimen.
